The point system

To stay in the Netherlands as an independent entrepreneur, you must demonstrate that your company brings value to and for the Netherlands. The IND assesses this using a "points system.
The point system has three parts:

Business plan: this is about the plans for your business, such as how many people you plan to reach, how you will organize it and how you will finance it.
Personal experience: In doing so, they look at how well you know the Netherlands, your education and your experience as an entrepreneur.
Added value for the Netherlands: this means they look at how innovative you are or whether you create jobs.

To be licensed as an independent contractor, you must score at least 90 points in total, and you must score at least 30 points for each section. If you are well educated and score at least 45 points for the first two sections (Business Plan and Personal Experience), you no longer need to score points for the third section.
